FINAL DAISY DAILY OF THE SCHOOL YEAR---JUNE 13-14, 2016

June 12, 2016

Daisy Staff,

Believe it or not, this is our final "Daisy Daily" of the School Year.
We have two jam-packed days ahead of us this week.

Last week was an incredible one, from our Volunteer Parade to our Young Athlete Events to our Staff Luncheon to our Fourth-Grade Promotion.  Thanks to all for making all of these events so successful!
Our Wonderful Volunteers...

Our Pre-School Celebration--"Young Athletes"

Our Fourth-Grade Promotion...

I will continue to provide updates to staff over the summer through this blog and I'll send out e-mails when I have updates, so feel free to check in to this staff blog at your convenience.

Please return your room keys and fobs to the office by the end of the day on Tuesday.  As you know, no one under the age of 18 is allowed on school premises during construction due to safety and any visitors to school need to be buzzed in through the front entry.  The school office will remain open throughout the summer and I will always be available by phone, e-mail or in person.  I will keep you updated as sections of the school become available to staff.  If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks to all for an incredible school year!!!
Enjoy your summer; you deserve it!!!

Warmly,
Ruth

DAISY DAILY FOR WEEK OF JUNE 6, 2016

June 5, 2016

Our Buddy Benches, which were introduced at last Friday's assembly, will be placed in our playgrounds this week.
Adults, please help with the supervision/intended use of these spectacular benches : )

Daisy Friends,

We're in the final stretch and we're going to make it in fine style, all together!  : )

A few notes about the week ahead:
  • We'll finalize class placements in Grade-Level Meetings this week.  If that has been completed, we'll shift to an overview of our updated Website in Grade-Level Meetings.  We also have additional dates for website training.  Please consult the schedule below.
  • Please help us make our Volunteer Reception on Tuesday a success!  We have all had a part in inviting those volunteers specific to your students.  Please forward RSVPs to the office so that we can get a head-count.  Participants (including bus drivers) will meet in the cafe at 8:30 am for a reception.  If any staff members can make themselves available for a few minutes between 8:30-9:00 am, please stop by to give your thanks.  Then, at 9 am, we will do a parade through the school, starting in the younger grades and making our way through the farthest rooms from the front entry (i.e., 4th grade, etc.)  Please bring your students out in the hallway to clap as our volunteers walk by.  We will strategically place flowers with classes to give to specific volunteers.  If anyone has time to have students make "thank you" signs, that would be fabulous.  This should conclude by 9:30 am.  Thank you for trying this with me; I think it could be really nice!  If you could help out by providing a breakfast treat, please drop it off in the cafe prior to 8:30 am.
  • Please plan on our Department-Based PLCs on Wed. afternoon from 3:15-4:15 pm.
  • Our All-Staff Luncheon will take place on Thursday, June 9, at 1:15 pm in the cafe.  This is the last full day for our paraprofessionals.
  • Please note the times for Transition Meetings to be held on the afternoons of June 10 and 13, below.
  • Our revised Schedule for next year that came out of our school-wide Schedule Committee has gone on to the Daisy Leadership Team and has been approved.  It takes into account feedback that we received from staff through the survey.  I will distribute this to all early this week.
  • As soon as Class Lists are completed this week, I will distribute to next year's teachers in preparation for "Step Up" Day, which will be held Monday, June 13, at 9 am.
  • All-Staff End-of-Year Gathering at "Fresh Salt" at Saybrook Point is scheduled for Friday, June 10, to begin at 3:30 pm.  Please join us!
There are way too many events to list them all here, so please read on to the calendar.  As always, please let me know your concerns!
