DAISY DAILY FOR WEEK OF APRIL 25, 2016

WELCOME BACK!

We'll celebrate Earth Day this week at Daisy.

Daisy Staff,

I hope that you all had a wonderful week last week and are ready for the final, exciting stretch of this school year.

Much maintenance took place at Daisy last week while students and staff were out of the building.  Our fire alarm system was tested and updated; "Exit" signs were replaced; wood chips were delivered to both playgrounds; maintenance was done on the generator; additional painting was completed; measurements were taken for window shades; the exterminator visited; as well as all kinds of deep cleaning of carpets and classrooms; etc; etc.

As always, please let me know if you have any concerns about your area.  

We will begin SBAC Practice Sessions in the main Computer Lab this week for our 3rd and 4th graders during regularly-scheduled computer times with Kim Godfrey and classroom teachers.  Modified practice should also take place at those times.

We will celebrate "Earth Day" this week, with most activities taking place on Wednesday for grades 1 through 4; and K classes on Tuesday.  Our PTO co-president, Lorie Pill, is organizing this event once again, and I am attempting to schedule these events at times least intrusive to classroom activities.  Please respond to the e-mail that I sent seeking your feedback, if you haven't already.

We expect our group that visited China back in town later today.  I spoke with Ginny White a couple of times over the break and it sounds like the trip was a wonderful experience.  I'm sure that she and our student who participated will  have many stories to tell.
