Daisy Staff,
A few notes about the week ahead:
- We will observe Veterans Day on Monday, November 12, by honoring our Veterans with a school-wide assembly at 1 pm in the Gym. Students will be invited to join in the procession with their special guest and will sit with the Veterans in front of the audience. If you receive additional RSVPs from families, please let the office know ASAP. Please remember to wear Red, White and Blue on Monday : )
- The Daisy PTO will meet from 5:15-6:15 pm on Tuesday in the Cafe.
- The Board of Education will meet on Tuesday evening at 7 pm in the Westbrook High School Library.
- Please note that Wednesday, November 14 is an early dismissal day (1 pm) for Professional Development. We have an amazing opportunity with Pat Ciccone joining us to facilitate an afternoon PD session re: the Adverse Childhood Experience Study (ACES). This session will take place in the cafe from 1:15-3:15 pm.
- The High School Play, "Spamalot" opens this Thursday evening and runs through the weekend. It looks to be a very exciting show!
- Our Annual 5K/Fun Run DAISY DASH will be held Saturday, November 17! Please consider joining us as this is our PTO's major fundraiser of the year and promises to be a good time.
- Marking Period 1 Ends November 28, with Report Cards going home on December 12. Please note that the end of all three Marking Periods/Trimesters are marked in our Staff Google Calendar.

The Keynote Speaker at the Early Childhood Forum last week was Scarlet Lewis, mother of Jesse Lewis who perished at Sandy Hook, and also founder of the "Choose Love" Movement. She delivered an inspirational message to a sold-out crowd of early childhood educators and parents.
Kudos to Early Childhood Coordinator, Alyssa Lindquist, who planned the forum, and who provides numerous educational opportunities for our early childhood educators and families.
