Daisy Daily for the Week of October 8, 2018

Thanks to Helen Sweet for another fabulous
"Enchanted" Book Fair!

Daisy Staff,

Thanks to ALL for all you put into making Parent/Teacher Conferences so worthwhile and successful for our students'
families last week.  All the work, energy and time that you put into each conference is so appreciated!

Also, many thanks to Helen (and volunteers) for a most fabulous, magical, enchanted Book Fair.  Each successive, successful Book Fair always seems to top the previous one.  EVERY child went home with a brand-new book, thanks to the generosity of those who helped support our scholarships.  Again, thanks to Helen for making this all happen!

A few notes about the four-day week ahead:
  • Tuesday, Oct. 9, is a "B" Day.  (Remember, we skip over holidays so that we don't miss a day of rotations.)
  • Grade-Level Meetings will take place as scheduled this week.
  • No Leadership Meeting this morning.  We will resume with our "every other" Tuesday meetings NEXT Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 8 am in the office.
  • Swim Classes at the "Y" begin today, Oct. 9, for Jeff Sullivan's class.  These classes will take place weekly on Tuesdays and Jeff's first-grade class will leave the building at 12:45 pm and return by 2:00 pm.  These lessons will conclude on Nov. 27.
  • Homework Room starts today (Oct. 9) and will run Mondays through Thursdays in Room 13 from 3-4 pm.  Cathy Dowler is coordinating this and a list of those participating will be confirmed today with all teachers and the office.
  • The monthly Board of Education Meeting takes place this evening, Tues., Oct. 9, at 7 pm in the WHS Library.
  • "Bike/Walk to School" takes place this Wed., Oct. 10.  Staff members who would like to join in, please meet families at the Ted Lane Parking Lot @ 8 am.  (Raindate is Thurs., Oct. 11).
  • We will have our regularly-scheduled Faculty Meeting on Wed., 3:15-4:15 pm in cafe.
As always, please check our Daisy Staff Calendar for all the events of the weeks ahead at:

Wishing all a wonderful week!

Ruth
