Daisy Daily for the Week of January 27, 2020

Morning Meeting in Preschool.


Daisy Staff,

Hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful weekend.

A few reminders re: the week/s ahead:
  • Some Grade-Levels will continue the review of student data in meetings this week, including first grade on Tuesday.
  • The Daisy Leadership team will meet on Tuesday (Jan. 28) from 8:00-8:25 am, followed by PLC Leaders/Lead Teacher/Administration from 8:30-9:00 am.
  • This Wednesday (Jan. 29) was scheduled to be a school-wide PLC, but since we want to continue the work in Math and Reading PLCs with Progress Monitoring in Tier 1, the structure will look a little different.  Members of the Special Education Team are asked to join their grade level teams in either the Math or Reading PLCs and Ruth will have a separate plan for Special Area Team members.  
  • Five Daisy staff members (along with other staff members from WMS & WHS) will participate in Restorative Practices Training on January 30-31.  Details re: coverage will be forthcoming.
  • The Special Area Team will meet this Friday, Jan. 31, from 8:00-8:30 am.
  • Please remember that Morning Bus Duty/Car Drop-off Duty starts at 8:15 am.  We start unloading the mini-bus at 8:20 am and all buses by 8:25 am.  Our Bus Drivers have been instructed not to open the door and unload students without adults at each bus door, to assist in the safe unloading of students.
  • Thanks so much to all staff members for ensuring a safe and efficient Lockdown Drill.  The next one will not be announced in advance.

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE FOLLOWING EVENTS:

  • Parent/Teacher Conferences: Feb. 4 & 6.  Students will be dismissed at 1 pm on both days.
  • 100th Day of School (tentative):  Feb. 5, 2020
  • February Recess: Feb. 17-18, 2020
  • "STEM" Night (Science/Technology/Math): April 8, 2020; 5:30 pm.

Daisy Daily for the Week of January 20, 2020



Daisy Staff,

Hope that everyone enjoyed the long, Martin Luther King, Jr., Holiday Weekend.

A few reminders re: the week/s ahead:
  • We will review Student Data in Grade-Level Meetings this week, per our regular meeting schedule, with meetings held in the office.
  • Department-Based PLCs will take place on Wed., Jan. 22, after school. Agendas will be forthcoming.
  • FYI, we have five staff members participating in Restorative Practices Training on January 30-31.  Details re: coverage will be distributed.

Daisy Daily for the Week of January 13, 2020


Daisy Staff,

Hope that everyone got a chance to enjoy the marvelously warm weather this weekend!  It certainly felt more like spring than January!!!

Here are a few reminders about the week/s ahead:
  • Please use Grade-Level Team Meeting time this week to confer with specialists, interventionists, team members, etc.  All Grade-Level Teams will meet during the week of Jan. 20 to review student data.
  • Jeff Sullivan's first-grade class will go to weekly Swim Lessons at the Y this Mon., Jan. 13, from 9:10-10:30 am.
  • The monthly Westbrook Board of Education Meeting is scheduled for Tues., Jan. 14, at 7 pm in the WHS Library.
  • Daisy PTO will meet Wed., Jan. 15, at 6 pm in the cafe.
  • The PDEC Committee will meet this Wed., Jan. 15, from 3:15-4:15 pm in the WHS Library.
  • Before-School Band will take place on the next "B" Day, which is Thurs., Jan. 16.
  • There is no school on Monday, Jan. 20, due to the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday.
  • Department-Based PLCs will take place on Wed., Jan. 22, after school.

Daisy Ingraham School is the proud recipient of a $500 Grant

our first STEM night for students and families!

  • Daisy PTO will meet next Wed., Jan. 15, at 6 pm in the cafe.

Welcome to 2020 and Welcome Back to School!!!

Hope that you all enjoyed a fabulous holiday break!

This will be a really quick, two-day week.  Here are a few reminders:
  • Thursday, Jan. 2 is a "B" Day and fourth-graders will have Before-School Band at 7:45 am.
  • The WECC Early Childhood Meeting will take place on Friday, Jan. 3, 10:30-11:30 am, in the Pit Office.
  • Kindergarten will have a Grade-Level meeting on Friday, Jan. 3, from 12:45-1:30 pm in the office.
  • Daisy Leadership Team will meet next Wed., Jan. 8.
