Daisy Daily for Week of May 15, 2017

May 15, 2017

Last week, we celebrated "Staff Appreciation Week" at Daisy.
Please know how much YOU are appreciated!

Hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful weekend and it looks like there may finally be some warmer weather in our future : )

Thanks to all for a very positive first week of SBAC Testing.  Our third- and fourth-grade students, along with our proctors, had a very successful week last week implementing ELA Assessments.  We really appreciate everyone's support throughout the building, paying particular attention in encouraging quiet behavior while traveling through the building, as well as everyone's flexibility with minor changes in lunch/recess/specials schedules.

This week, our third- and fourth-grade classes will be involved in Math SBAC Assessments.  Test sessions run each morning from 9:00-10:30 am.  Please pay special attention to the adjusted schedule for this week.

Please consult our DAISY STAFF CALENDAR re: important dates/events for the weeks ahead.  Click on this link:

A few important notes:

  • The Annual Town Meeting/Budget Vote is scheduled for Tuesday, May 16, at 7 pm in the Westbrook High School Auditorium.
  • Our Daisy Grades 1 & 2 Concert, will be held this Thursday, May 18th, in the gym at 5:30 pm.  We  moved the concert up to an earlier time so that it doesn't conflict with the Grade 5 Orientation at Westbrook Middle School.
  • Teachers:  if you haven't already scheduled a year-end summative conference with me (through Rosanne), please do so.  We will review progress on SLOs and finalize the end-of-year evaluation in Bloomboard.
  • The Harlem Rockets Game (a fundraiser for WMS PTO) has been rescheduled to Tuesday, May 23, at 6:30 pm.
  • We accomplished a lot in grade-level meetings last week as we explored the units that grade-level reps wrote for our SAAP curriculum.  This week, we will start to work on placement of students for next year.  Please stop by the office and pick up color-coded placement cards for that purpose.
As always, please let me know your concerns.

Ruth
